SMC/BMC

Hot pressing of sheet moulding compound

At Romay, we utilize SMC hot pressing technology to manufacture glass fibre-reinforced components. Our 15 production lines in Switzerland, Poland and China operate with closing forces ranging from 200 to 2500 tons, enabling us to deliver high-quality solutions for a wide range of applications.

Quality assurance & certification

The materials used in products for the transportation sector meet country-specific regulations and comply with the fire protection standard ISO EN 45545-HL2/HL3. Our products for the medical and equipment sectors adhere to UL 94 V0 fire protection requirements.

Rigid PUR RIM

Polyurethane-reaction injection moulding (RIM) production

Quality assurance & certification

All materials comply with UL 94 V0 fire protection standards, guaranteeing safety and regulatory compliance.

Thermoforming

Precision, efficiency, and reproducible quality with advanced vacuum thermoforming technology

At ROMAY, we utilize high-performance automatic vacuum thermoforming, ensuring consistent and repeatable quality for both custom and mass production. Our process is based on polymeric mixtures such as ABS, PC, PMMA, and PVC, with material thicknesses ranging from 2 mm to 10 mm. Our fully automated thermoforming machines are equipped with automated material feeding, forming, and product unloading. This state-of-the-art system ensures optimal efficiency and precision throughout the entire process. With precise control over all process parameters, our technology allows for automatic format adjustments via integrated software. We offer a maximum forming size of 2700 x 1800 x 1000 mm, with quick and accurate mold positioning achieved automatically for seamless production.

LRTM / Vacuum Infusion

Advanced composite manufacturing for strength, precision, and durability. At ROMAY, we produce high-quality glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) components using advanced Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), Vacuum Infusion Process (VIP), and Hand Lay-Up (HLU) techniques. The choice of technology depends on key factors such as batch size, part complexity, quality requirements, and precision standards. Regardless of the method used, all production follows strictly defined formulations to ensure consistency and excellence. Our reinforcements include a variety of high-performance materials, such as glass fibers, sandwich materials, carbon fiber, and aramid reinforcements, ensuring strength and durability.

Filament Winding

Advanced filament winding technology for robust, high-precision cylindrical structures

At ROMAY, we specialize in Filament Winding a highly efficient and precise manufacturing method used for producing cylindrical components in power generation systems. This process involves wrapping tensioned filaments around a rotating mandrel while simultaneously impregnating them with resin. Once the required shape is achieved, the structure is cured in a controlled heating chamber, ensuring optimal strength, durability, and performance.

With our state-of-the-art filament winding capabilities, we manufacture components with

External diameters of up to 3.5 meters

Ring thicknesses of up to 0.75 meters

Weights exceeding 4,000 kg
